Full Axgio Neon N3 review now available

Axgio is one of the new names in the smartphone industry. The company tries to advertise that their home brewed Android OS, called Neonado, is the only OS specially optimized for MTK processors. We haven’t had the chance to test an Axgio phone, but looks like the brand is trying to tempt us with their new Axgio Neon N3. It’s a third generation of their Neon N series and we are definitely interested. Let’s take a closer look.

Axgio Neon N3The first thing that attracts our attention is the body. It’s metal and reminds us of HTC One. The phone measures 143.5 x 71.1 x 8.6mm, which is not bad at all. It’s actually shorter and thinner than HTC One (M8) and measures almost the same width (1mm difference). The phone weights 174 gr and that’s probably because of the metal body (14 gr more than HTC One).

Axgio Neon N3 is powered by 64-bit MTK6732 – quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. This should definitely give some solid power. The chipset supports LTE and yes, you’ll get FDD-LTE 4G frequencies. The GPU is MALI T760, the same that can be found in Samsung Galaxy Note 4 or Meizu M1 Note. The back camera is 13 MP with Sony IMX135 sensor, which can also be spotted in Moto X(2014), LG G2 and LG G3. The front camera is 5 MP interpolated to 8 MP. Sounds incredibly good so far, right ?

The screen is 5 inches with HD resolution (720 x 1280), which should be enough. You can’t expect much from a Chinese budget device. The RAM and ROM are a little bit disappointing with 1 GB and 8 GB respectively. Of course you could expect that there’s going to be a microSD slot. The battery is 2500mAh, but we don’t know, if it will be removable since the body is metal.

Axgio Neon N3There are going to be lots additional functions like HotKnot, Smart wake, Wifi Display, OTG, GPS, AGPS and so on. Axgio Neon N3 supports dual sim standby with one standard and one micro sim.

Axgio Neon N3 is currently in pre-sell stage (although it’s not even officially announced on Axgio’s website) and should start shipping on February 10. The price is about $150, but you can find some promotional coupons by online retailers and get about $20 discount. Bargain price for metal 4G enabled smartphone with 64-bit processor and Sony sensor camera. What do you think ? Excited ?
