Doogee Valencia2 Y100 Pro is a handset, which hit the market a few months ago. We are used to see the company to introduce a new smartphone each 2-3 months, so Doogee Valencia2 Y100 Pro is just one of many. We were not very interested in the device since our previous disappointing experience with several Doogee devices. However after e few months we decided to give it a look and see how the entry level has evolved.
Doogee Valencia2 Y100 Pro specifications
MTK6735P – 64-bit Quad-Core 1.0GHz processor
RAM 2GB+ROM 16GB (Support TF card up to 128GB)
5” multi-point capacitive LTPS screen with HD resolution (1280 x 720 pixels)
5 MP front camera (interpolated to 8 MP) and 8 MP (interpolated to 13 MP) rear camera with flashlight
The exact measures of the phone are 142.6 x 72.1 x 0.93 cm. Doogee Valencia2 Y100 Pro comes with 2.5D curved glass panel, which actually is not something as interesting as it sounds. For all the folks, who are not familiar with the 2.5D curved glass panel terminology, let’s just say that the glass, which comes over the display, is slightly curved at each end. That’s all. Don’t expect to impress any friends with that. The phone feels solid and it’s slightly on the heavy side. Doogee claims that it has metal body, but the truth is that it’s just some metal frame hidden under the back lid. Talking about the back lid, it’s made clearly of plastic although its color is trying to copy metal. We found Doogee Valencia2 Y100 Pro to feels comfortable in the hand thankfully to the slightly curved edges of the phone. Actually we think that the slightly heavy weight helps for better grip and gives the phone a little bit more premium feel. It sounds a little bit weird, but perhaps you need to hold it yourself to feel it.
Doogee Valencia2 Y100 Pro has both power button and volume rocker placed on the right side. We can’t put a mark “easy to press”, but it’s not so difficult either. Having all the buttons on the right side leaves the left one completely clean. There’s only one tiny microphone hole at the bottom, because the micro usb port is placed on the top along with the audio jack. Moving to the back you’ll noticed the camera and the flashlight placed at the top middle. The back camera comes out the phone a little bit and there’s a slight hump. Better avoid putting the phone on the back, because this can damage the camera lens. Perhaps a protective case can help to cover the hump. The speaker is placed at the bottom of the back.
The back lid is a little bit tricky to be removed. Under the lid you’ll see the 2200mAh battery, two sim card slots and the microSD card slot. Keep in mind that one of the sim cards should be mini sim and the other micro sim.
The front side of Doogee Valencia2 Y100 Pro offers acceptable side bezel and slightly huge top and bottom ones. The navigation buttons are placed at the bottom and there’s no back light. So don’t expect to see them in the dark. The front camera and the conversation speaker are placed on the top.
