Kingzone is another Chinese company situated in Shenzhen – one of the industrial areas in China. It’s one of the manufacturers, which is trying to expand worldwide and has an interesting products portfolio. Kingzone N3 is a features rich device, with good-looking design and 4G enabled. We are used to measure the Chinese phones in the amount of cores their processor has, the battery size, ram and in-build storage. Usually a better device means the one with more powerful processor, but Kingzone N3 is not trying to offer pure power. It has a different approach and is trying to focus more on the user experience, than on rough hardware numbers.
Kingzone N3 measures 143.8X71.8X7.5mm and it weighs 139 gr. There’s a thin metal frame around the corpus and the back of the phone is slightly curved for better grip. It has 5-inch JDI HD display (720 x 1280 resolution, which gives 320 ppi pixel density) made by Sharp. The screen is covered with Gorilla Glass 3 and it’s so sensitive that should work even with gloves or wet hands.
You won’t find an impressive processor. The phone is power by MT6582+6290 clocked at 1.3 GHz and is paired with 1 GB ram plus 8 GB in-build storage. The GPU is Mali-400MP. However there’s a fingerprint scanner at the back, which can also be used as a touch control. It allows you to scroll or even focus and take picture. The phone also supports screen off gestures.
There’s a 13 MP F/2.0 camera at the back and 8 MP front camera. The back camera’s sensor is made by Sony, it’s Stack Multilayer CMOS (Exmor RS). The camera allows 1080p@60fps or 720p@120fps video recording and it has video stabilization. The front camera is capable of 1080p@30fps video.
The back speaker is made by Yamaha. Kingzone N3 also supports window function with specially design cases.
As we said you’ll get 4G enabled phone. It supports dual sim and works with wide variety of frequencies – GSM：850/900/1800/2100MHz ; WCDMA：850/900/1900/2100MHz ; LTE: FDD 800/1800/2100/2600MHz. The wifi connectivity also offers a good range with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n.
Kingzone N3 comes with Android KitKat 4.4 out of the box and it supports OTA updates (but this doesn’t mean that will get newer software version).
The phone also supports NFC and OTG.
The battery is a removable and it has capacity of 2800mAh.
The price is around $170, which a little bit too high for quad-core device with just 1 GB ram and 8 GB storage, but Kingzone N3 gives you 4G connectivity, promising front and back cameras and a good speaker. And all this is pack in a thin body with metal frame under Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Don’t forget the fingerprint scanner, too.
