Leagoo Lead 7- another Chinese big battery cheap device

Image of Leagoo Lead 7We see that more and more devices with bigger batteries, which only makes us happy. Seems that the Chinese manufacturers realized that the people are looking for smartphones with better battery life and more phones with 4000+mAh batteries are coming to the market. Leagoo is another company, which now has such device. Although the brand itself is born in April 2014, it’s trying to catch up the competition. The newly released Leagoo Lead 7 is a 4500mAh power horse, which promises about a month of standby. Let’s take a closer look.

Leagoo Lead 7 is a 5 inches smartphone with HD (720×1280 pixels) IPS display, which should have decent viewing angles. However there’s no word, if there will be any protection, like Gorilla Glass or something else.

It will be powered by, let’s say the chipset, which became kind of a standard for budget Chinese smartphones, MTK6582 – quad core chip clocked at 1.3 GHz. There will be 1GB RAM available for multitasking and 8GB ROM for files. Luckily you can extend the device’s memory by an external card.

As we said, the most interesting part – the battery – will be 4500mAh and it will be removable. Yes, that’s right, you can replace it by yourself. Leagoo Lead 7 remains relatively compact despite of the big battery. The phone’s dimensions are 144*71.6*8.9mm.

It covers most of the 2G and 3G worldwide frequencies, so it should work almost anywhere around the world – WCDMA 850/1900/2100 & GSM 850/900/1800/1900. There’s no 4G, but we can’t expect much from a budget device.

Talking about the price, it’s very attractive. Leagoo Lead 7 costs around $130, which is great for such smartphone with a big battery.

According to Leagoo, the phone should serve for 23 hours of talk and 30 hours of music playback. We think that these numbers are a little bit low compared to the size of the battery. We hope that the phone can do better, otherwise it means that Leagoo didn’t manage to optimize the device’s software. By the way Leagoo Lead 7 comes with Android KitKat 4.4.2.

The phone was released at the end of 2014 and hopefully we can tell you more about the handset with our review unit.
