Meizu Blue Charm (M1) vs Xiaomi Redmi 2 vs Lenovo A6000

Today Meizu announced officially Meizu Blue Charm and added one more phone to the cheap-smartphones-with-great-specifications family. Xiaomi Redmi 2 is already waiting there. The second generation Redmi hit the markets in attempt to continue the good run that the initial Xiaomi Redmi had. Lenovo announced Lenovo A6000, which should be shipped internationally in attempt to stop Xiaomi’s domination. If you are looking for a new phone and you want a great value for money device, then a hard decision is coming ahead. Which phone you should choose ?

Xiaomi Redmi 2 looks like the most compact phone. It’s shorter and narrower than Meizu Blue Charm M1 and Lenovo A6000. However it’s the thicker one and is the heaviest one (although probably you won’t feel 5 gr difference). Lenovo A6000 is the thinnest and has relatively light weight. It’s difficult to announce a winner here, but Meizu and Lenovo have bigger screens in a slightly bigger body and it’s difficult to compete with a phone with smaller display.

It looks like Meizu Blue Charm is slightly ahead here. It has the best screen to body ratio, Gorilla Glass 3 on top and bigger display. There some unknown values in our competition here, but we think that Meizu might be the winner in this category.

Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Lenovo A6000 look like twins. There’s no difference in the specifications and we can only guess, which will be the better one in real life use. Meizu Blue Charm definitely makes some difference here with quad-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. It has better GPU and offers 4 times more in terms of expandable memory. We think that it will be fair to say that Meizu M1 wins this round. As to Xiaomi and Lenovo – it’s up to software optimization.

At least on paper seems that Meizu Blue Charm packs the best camera. It has the best resolution, but it doesn’t always means that it’s the best camera. However until the phone is officially released we can only guess. Xiaomi Redmi 2 and Lenovo A6000 both finish second with almost identical specifications. We are yet to see, which phone is capable of taking the best pictures.

The price of all handsets is almost identical. Because of the competition all phones have similar low price. However keep in mind that this is the price for purchasing the phone in China or directly via the manufacturer’s channels. Usually online re-sellers offer the phones with about 30%-40% increase. So you should expect the price to be around $150.

Enough Meizu! Seems like Meizu Blue Charm (M1) is about to steal another victory. It has about %15 bigger battery than the other two phones and although Xiaomi Redmi 2 has smaller screen, we still think Meizu should be able to sustain the victory. Lenovo A6000 comes last although it has bigger battery than Redmi. Lenovo has bigger screen and we think that this may affect the overall battery performance.

Conclusion

Looks like Meizu did it. They managed to produce a better smartphone, than Xiaomi Redmi 2 and at the same price. Seems that there’s will one really tough competition. Xiaomi gathered lots of fans and fame during the past year, but Meizu is slowly claiming behind them. Lenovo did a good effort with A6000, but we think that it will not be good enough and it will be difficult to fight against Redmi’s popularity and Meizu Blue Charm specifications.
