There was lots of noise around Meizu during the past months. They released their new flagship Meizu MX4 and even a better version Meizu MX4 Pro. The smartphone is a premium one and will cost you decent amount of money, if you want to put it in your pocket. Luckily Meizu prepared another line of more affordable smartphones – Blue Charm. Blue Charm are sub $200 devices with killing specs for such price.
Meizu M1 Note (or Blue Charm Note) looks like an utopia for the price it’s asking. So what’s the big deal about it ? Meizu Note offers 5.5 inches full HD ( 1920 x 1080) display produced by Sharp. It has IGZO display technology, the same that Apple uses with its iPads. At the top of the screen there is a Gorilla 3 Glass protecting Meizu Note from scratches. So far so good ?
The phone will be powered by 64-bit MTK octa-core processor MT6752. It has eight ARM cortex-A53 1.7GHz cores, which should be enough even for the FHD display. Moving next to the graphics, Meizu Note will be served with Mali T760 MP2/600MHz GPU, which in theory has the same frequency as Adreno 430, but we are going to see what’s the real life performance. The system will be supported by 2GB LPDDR3 RAM, so there should be no problem with multitasking.
The main Meizu Note camera is a 13MP F/2.2 Samsung camera with 5 lens and is covered with Gorilla Glass 3 as well. It is capable of taking 30 shots per second. The front facing camera is 5MP F/2.0 with 4 lens (again covered with Gorilla Glass 3) and it’s boosted for selfies. It has wide angle lens and embedded beautification technologies.
Moving to the connection, Meizu Note will support FDD-LTE / WCDMA / GSM, however no official information of the exact frequencies. The wifi connection has all you need and works with 802.11 a/b/g/n. There will be a bluetooth 4.0 on board as well.
The Chinese manufacturer was generous with putting more than usual amount of sensor for a budget smartphone. Meizu Note will be equipped with Hall Effect Sensor, Gravity Sensor, Infrared Proximity Sensor, Gyroscope, Ambient Light Sensor, Touch Sensor, Digital Compass. The GPS support will be delivered through A-GPS and GLONASS.
The battery is 3140mAh, which seems to be enough even for 8-core 5.5 inches FHD smartphone. It should serve for at least one day.
Meizu Note will spot 2 sim cards, but keep in mind that just one of the card will be available for 3G and 4G. The second card can only work with 2G.
Well that’s how Meizu Note looks like. And the best part is the price. It’s expected to cost about $160 for the 16GB version and about $190-200 for 32GB version. Sounds incredibly for what you get. However still there’s no word, when the phone will be seen at Meizu’s official online shop.
We have to be honest and admit, that Meizu Note looks a lot like a big iPhone 5C. The whole colorful conception and the circle key, which Meizu uses with their phones for years, are details, which lead to iPhone 5C look-alike. It would have been great, if Meizu had managed to introduce a new design concept, but this look like a great phone, even with not-so-unique design. We are exited about the new Meizu Note. What about you ?
