UMI has a new device coming in May. It’s UMI Emax – a phablet with promising specifications. The details are still to be officially confirmed, but probably they will match with the information, which already has leaked.
UMI Emax specifications
As we mentioned UMI Emax is a phablet. It spots 5.5-inch display with probably HD resolution (720 x 1280). It’s not the best resolution for a big screen device, but it’s acceptable.
We can expect that UMI Emax will be powered by one the latest MediaTek 64-bit processors. Perhaps it will be MTK6752 – an octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz. It will be paired with 2 GB RAM memory and 16 GB internal storage (including microSD card slot). There are still no words about the GPU, but probably we are most likely to see Mali-T760.
The software version is kind of disappointment, because it’s Android KitKat. Android 5 came to the world half a year ago and we would like to see UMI Emax running Lollipop, not KitKat. We hope that there is going to be at least a software update.
There are two cameras on board with decent amount of pixels, but still no details about the sensors. The back camera is 13 MP and the front one is 5 MP.
Probably the most interesting part about the phone is the battery. UMI Emax comes with big 3700 mAh battery. UMI also claims that the phone comes with a “cutting edge battery technology”, but they don’t go into details. Maybe they will introduce new battery design or charging technology. UMI Emax should support OTG and it can charge other smartphones.
The price of the handset is still questionable. Probably you should be able to buy UMI Emax for a price of about $200. Looks like it’s going to compete with Meizu M1 Note and we are curious to see, if it has enough arguments to challenge it.
