Xiaomi Mi Note vs. Galaxy Note 4 vs. Meizu M1 Note comparison

Xiaomi threw a really tough challenge at Samsung announcing its second generation Xiaomi Mi Note and the boosted version Mi Note Pro. We thought that the Chinese manufacturer is focused mainly on the low-priced smartphones, but the new phablet is definitely more than a premium device. At the same time seems that Meizu is trying to take Xiaomi’s vacant place at the budget line. With M1 Note Meizu is definitely trying to be competitive in both price and specifications. Will Galaxy Note survive this attack ?

Surprisingly or not Meizu is the most compact and lightest device of all. It packs a little bit smaller screen (we will check that later), but you won’t make much difference between 5.5 or 5.7 inches. Xiaomi Mi Note is the thinnest device, but even being almost 2mm thicker, Meizu M1 Note is still lighter. The first place here goes for Meizu, second for Xiaomi and Galaxy Note 4 takes the last one.

When you have Super AMOLED QHD display with Gorilla Glass 4 we can definitely say that this probably is the best display out there. It’s difficult to be any better at the moment, than what Galaxy Note 4 can offer you. Samsung takes the point here, but it’s difficult to determine, which is second. We can say that Xiaomi Mi Note and Meizu M1 Note can share the second place before any real life tests are performed.

GPU – Adreno 420 (SM-N910S) or
Mali-T760 (SM-N910C)

Memory – 32 GB, 3 GB RAM

Card slot – up to 128 GB

We are looking at three great devices in terms of hardware, but we must admit, that Galaxy Note 4 is one step ahead. It packs the most powerful chipset among the three of them plus better GPU. It’s the only device with card slot and the internal memory is as much as 32 GB. Although with a little bit old GPU Xiaomi Mi Note comes second. It has 3 GB RAM and an option with 64 GB internal memory. Meizu M1 Note comes third with ‘only’ 2 GB RAM and maximum 32 GB storage.

And Sammy did it again. Without any doubt Note 4 packs the best camera hardware. The 4 MP Ultra Pixel Xiaomi front camera is great, but Sammy can offer you optical image stabilization, higher resolution and greater video quality. Mi Note takes the second place and Meizu comes last even with such great features.

Price

Incredibly cheap – this is Meizu M1 Note. You can get 2 Meizu phones for the price of one Xiaomi Mi Note and 3 M1 Note for the price of one Galaxy Note 4. Keep in mind that this price may vary between different countries and sellers. The price we’ve listed is for the 32 GB Meizu M1 Note and 64 GB Xiaomi Mi Note.

Battery

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Well it’s impossible to say, which the best phone in terms of battery is just by looking at the numbers. All of the handsets are equipped with big batteries, because of the screen size. Which one will win here ? It all depends on software and hardware optimizations. We are yet to see.

Conclusion

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is definitely the best device here. Great screen, awesome camera and super processor. You pay a lot, but you get a lot. However Meizu can save you $400 and offer you top-notch hardware as well. You make little to no compromise with some hardware components, but you will have $400 more at the end of the day. Xiaomi is in the middle in terms of price and specifications. Of course there’s the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro version, which comes with 4 GB RAM, QHD screen, 16 MP OIS camera and Gorilla Glass both sides. The price is almost the same as Note 4, but Mi Note Pro comes with Snapdragon 810. However none of the phones can offer an S-pen feature and Note 4 remains the only one being the true note. It’s one really difficult choice. Which one would you choose ?
